Malachi 3:8 – 10 – ‘“Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ “In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse – the whole nation of you – because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty. “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”’
Many people will say that it is not good to test God. And yet, in this verse He specifically commands us to do so! For those who are holding back from giving to God what is rightly His, He says they are under a curse.
In fact, as we rob God, we are also robbing ourselves! How so? God indicates that when we withhold from him – as in those who do not bring the whole tithe – then God is restricted in how He can bless us. If instead we choose to bring the whole tithe into the storehouse – into God’s house – then He will bless us.
And how much will he bless us? A little? Perhaps a bit more than what we have given? No, so much that we will not be able to store it all! What a wonderful image! If we choose to be faithful to God with our tithe and give back what is His anyway, then He will bless us with so very much! So much that we will be filled to overflowing and be in such an incredible position to be able to bless many others! Exciting.
If we do not know how to give to God what is rightly His, then we will struggle to bless others from our abundance. Get things right – bring the whole tithe into the storehouse. God will bless you for it.
Financial tip – learn to give! God will only give it to you, if He can get it through you!
