Titus 3:14 – ‘Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.’
In the first book in the bible, the concept of man working is introduced. This is found in Genesis 2:15. Although many people may not think so, employment is a gift. The ability to be able to utilise skills and knowledge and earn an income is a gift from God. With this gift, we are able to provide for our daily necessities.
It is good for people to work and support themselves. Not only are they doing this when they earn an income, they are also paying tax to help support the running of their country. They are being productive. And they are also putting themselves in a position to provide for their family, save and invest in the church and bless others.
As a wealthy Christian, make it a priority to give back to God when He blesses you with the ability to earn. Learn to be a good steward of your finances and to provide for your daily necessities. After this, focus on saving and investing so that you can bless others financially in the future.
Working provides you with funds to cover your living expenses. It also provides you with the opportunity to be productive. Idle hands are the devil’s playground. Even if you aren’t currently in a position to work and earn an income, do your best to stay productive and bless others.
Financial tip – for big purchases, research pricing in advance of acquiring something. You can save yourself a lot of money if you take the time to look around.
