Mark 2: 27 – ‘Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”’

God made the Sabbath. He made it for us. Can you think of anything that He has made for us that isn’t in our best interests?

We have discipline to correct us. We have provisions to feed and clothe us and keep us comfortable. We have wealth to help us to bless others of God’s children that are desperately in need.

We have the Sabbath to ensure that we have one day a week where we rest. And what are we to do with that rest? Focus on God! He should be a part of our daily lives, but one day in particular should be easier to give our all to Him, because nothing is expected of us work wise. Recognise the value in the Sabbath for your health – physically and spiritually with God.
