Psalm 37: 16 – 17 – ‘Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked; for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.’
The focus of this blog is a bible study on wealth. It finds verses that indicate God wants abundantly more for us than we can ever hope or imagine. For me, this includes finances! However, it should be noted that the bible is clear on one thing: wealth as our sole focus is a bad thing. We shouldn’t acquire it the wrong way; nor should we put it beyond our love of God; we shouldn’t idolise wealth. God’s word states that it is better to be righteous and have little, than to have wealth and be wicked. Take note of this.
When we live righteously – that is, we live for God – then He will uphold us. Note I didn’t say when we live perfectly! We are human, we make mistakes. But the wicked person, even though they may enjoy wealth on this earth, their power will be broken and they have no eternal future with God.
In all that you do, be thankful for what God has blessed you with. Be thankful that He is in control and loves you more than you can imagine. Work to live righteously for your Lord and in living, educate yourself to be wise with your finances. From here, I believe you will watch your wealth grow and be used to benefit others in need.
The Wealth of Many Wicked
Don’t fall into the trap of becoming like the many wicked who are wealthy and have twisted priorities. In times where it seems you don’t have enough to share financially, remember that you can share God’s love and this is worth more than all the riches in the world!
Wealth tip – consider only borrowing money to purchase assets that will generate income for you, not for products that will decrease in value over time.
