1 Peter 4:10 – ‘Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.’
God’s word indicates that we should make use of whatever gift we have received. God has given us each a unique set of skills and interests. We are instructed to make use of these to serve others. I believe we can also use these gifts to generate wealth.
An example – some of my skills involve educating and writing. One of my passions is horses. I combine these by writing educational novels about horses that earn me an income. Income I can use to save and give.
I don’t write because it earns me money – I do it because I love to! An added bonus is that I can earn from it. Better yet, it generates me a residual income because I write a book once and sell it many times! I believe this can be the way for many of us with whatever gifts we have received.
When you are passionate about something, you are more likely to succeed with it. Why? Because money isn’t your driving force. And yet, money can come because you invest so much time and enthusiasm into this area you’re passionate about.
Consider what gifts you have and how you can use them to bless your local church. Also, consider if there are ways you can utilise your skills to earn and generate wealth. It could be through getting a job in an area you’re passionate about, or through creating products or resources to sell to others. Think outside the box; your passion may be able to earn you money. Just remember to use whatever gift you have to bless others – not as a sole means to earn income.
Wealth tip – budget your money and follow this.
