2 Chronicles 1: 11 – 12 – ‘God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”’
Solomon’s desire was to serve his people wisely, to do what is best for them. It was a selfless desire and God saw this and blessed him for it. Why do you desire to be a wealthy Christian? If the desire is so that you can reach more of God’s people and let them know about His incredible love, no doubt He will bless you for it.
I’m not saying that God will make you rich, but rather that He will provide you with the opportunities, skills and resources to be able to do so. In turn, you may find that He does indeed help you to generate wealth. But this is not because you desire to be wealthy! It is because you desire to reach His people.
Your Heart’s Desire
Make it your heart’s desire to use your wealth for God’s good – not your own. As you seek to align your desires with His, you will find that He will bless you for it. As we align what we want with God’s desires, it only makes sense that He will help them come to fruition. Make sure your heart’s desire isn’t built up with selfish wants and ambitions.
