Luke 5: 8 – 19 – ‘Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.’
Did you know that there are many ways to get in front of Jesus? If Jesus is a point in the centre of a circle and one hundred people make up the perimetre, each one can step forward and place themselves in front of Jesus.
We may find that we’re standing behind him, but if we move toward him, we can come to be in front of Jesus. His focus will be on us, then!
If one way of trying to reach God doesn’t work, come at Him from a different angle. Still move towards him, knowing you are getting closer to being in front of Him with your problem or desire.
This is what the men with the paralytic on the mat did. They acknowledged that they couldn’t get in front of Jesus through the crowd. They realised they needed to try a different approach. They knew it was paramount to position themselves – and their friend – well.
Do you recognise your need to be in front of Jesus? It’s all about how you position yourself! Position yourself near Christ: read His word. Pray to Him. Listen for Him. Act in love toward others. Draw close to God and He will draw close to you. Make an effort to be before Jesus daily.
Wealth tip – learn to give! God will only give it to you, if He can get it through you!
