Proverbs 12:14 – ‘From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.’
Speak positively. God’s word says that we are filled with good things, if only we will speak them. Perhaps then we can assume the opposite to be true. If we speak negatively, then bad things will result.
I rather like how this verse ends. It is indicating that when you work, you receive rewards. This is a given. Likewise, when we speak positively, we are filled with good things. When you’re able to see the positive in any situation, you’re a much happier person!
From the Fruit of His Lips
Let’s put this into the context of a wealthy Christian. Whatever your business plans or goals, speak positively over them. If you speak positively with regards to your working environment and work diligently, then not only will you be ‘filled with good things’ but you will also be rewarded from the work of your hands.
If we put this principle into practice in all areas of our life, how much will we benefit! Invest in others by providing them with life giving words. Invest in yourself by speaking positively about your ideas, looks, skills and more.
Make your hands work. Make your words positive. From the two, see the impact you can have for God’s kingdom and the abundant result in your working life. As a wealthy Christian, set yourself a goal of speaking positively about yourself daily. Make an effort to speak positively to everyone you interact with. When you find yourself thinking negatively about someone or a situation, find one positive thing to say out loud about them. Speak positively.
Financial tip – establish the difference between needs and wants. Do you need your next purchase? Can the money be better invested elsewhere?
