Proverbs 5: 21 – ‘For a man’s ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths.’
It is important for us to acknowledge that every thing we do is in sight of the Lord; He knows our motives (perhaps even more than we do!) and our intentions behind any given word, transaction, thought and action. If we recognise this, then we are more likely to behave in such a way that is pleasing to the Lord and beneficial to the development of His kingdom.
Although we need to be transparent before God – and often in business transactions – this doesn’t mean that we need to explain every action we plan to undertake in business to others. We don’t need to share ideas and goals with everyone.
Although sharing goals with some is a way to keep us accountable toward reaching them; recognise that there are times when it is best to keep silent and private. Not everyone will be thrilled with what we are doing or trying to do – particularly if our success means more money to give into God’s ministry.
God is very real and so too, is the enemy. It is important to always be transparent before God and to test our motives, but to also recognise that wealth and business matters should be carried out with discretion. Pray that God will guide you in wisdom and discernment in these areas.
Money tip – set yourself a financial goal and list some ways you can actively work towards this (develop a brand, website, products, service, etc). Share this goal with one or two trusted friends and be accountable – work toward it on a regular basis.
